Janet J. AckermanJanet Ackerman resides in Camarillo, California with her husband, Dale. She is currently a member of the California Board of the Nadine Griffey Academy of Kenya. She was born in 1932 and raised in Camas, Washington where she attended the public schools. She received her Bachelor of Education from Western Washington University, and a Masters of Early Childhood Education from California State University, Northridge. Janet has taught grades first through high school, with the majority in grades two to five over a span of 40 years. She has been a classroom teacher, a language arts mentor, a reading teacher and worked with beginning teachers. She has also been involved with accreditation teams over the last many years. |

Dale T. AckermanDale Ackerman resides in Camarillo, California with his wife Janet. He is currently serving on the California Board as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Nadine Griffey Academy of Kenya. He was born in 1932 and was educated in the public schools of Camas, Washington. He received his Bachelor of Arts in history and economics from Willamette University, a Bachelor of Education from Western Washington University, a Master’s of Education from California State University, Northridge. During his educational career, he has been a teacher, coach, counselor, assistant principal, principal, superintendent and currently works with California Lutheran University supervising student teachers. He has a long history of chairing accreditation teams for the schools of Southern California and has also chaired teams in Taiwan, South Korea, Pupae New Guinea, and Hawaii. |

Ruth L. FraserRuth Fraser graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in English. During her thirty year career in education, she has taught all grades from Kindergarten through Grade 8 in California, Missouri, and New Jersey. She has taken leadership roles both within public education and within her community and her church where she serves as Chair of Women’s Ministry. She also serves as a volunteer with St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital and works with the emergency room staff and community. |

Robert D. FraserRobert Fraser graduated from California Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science in the Social Sciences. He has served in the United States Army. During his thirty-five years as a professional educator, he has taught grades three through eight, serves as an administrator at the school level, and a district office administrator and assistant superintendent in local school districts. He received a Master of Arts in Vocational Education from California State University Long Beach and a Doctorate in Education Management from the University of La Verne. He currently serves as the Director of Student Teaching at California Lutheran University and teaches Law for Administrators and Counselors. |

Bernard NjauBernard Njau is the current Chief Executive Officer and member of the Nadine Griffey Academy of Kenya Advisory Board. He was born in 1968 and resides in Nairobi, Kenya with his wife and three children. He is a graduate of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is a construction and civil engineering contractor and has years of experience in both commercial buildings and residential housing developments. |

Irma de la TorreIrma de la Torre is originally from Chiapas, Mexico and currently lives in Nairobi, Kenya with her husband, Dr. Salvador de la Torre. She received her degree in nursing and practiced as a surgical nurse in Mexico, Haiti, Zambia and Kenya. In the past few years, Irma has dedicated herself to help impoverished areas in and around Nairobi to build and operate schools. |

Agnes Wairimu BisauleAgnes Wairimu Bisaule was born in 1966 and lives in Nairobi, Kenya with her family. She has a Bachelor of Education majoring in English from Moi University and currently serves as the Academic Co-coordinator at the Consolata School in Westland, Nairobi. Agnes also has special training and experience working with teachers and students living in the Kibera, Mathare, Korogocho and Kariobangi slums including the complex psychological, social and emotional issues inherent in working with children living in those impoverished areas. |

Naomi MutuaNaomi Mutua was born and lives in Nairobi, Kenya. She is currently a Business Process Manager and magazine editor, and has an educational background in Information Technology Management. She has worked for several different organizations as a volunteer over the years. |
